Meet D-Funk, the Sydney-based, British born DJ with an impressive 25-year career. Whiskey enthusiast, avid yet partly skilled surfer, long time vinyl collector & funk lover, Doug Masters aka D-Funk made club debut in Bristol back in 1995 to rocking renowned venues like Space, Ibiza and Ministry Of Sound, London, D-Funk has conquered dance floors worldwide. Doug was nominated for 'Best Breakthrough DJ' at the 2009 International Break Beat awards & his label Upstart Music was nominated for 'Best New Label' at Breakspoll 2010. In 2012 the label he co-runs with Philly Blunt, Grits N Gravy, won the 'Best Label' award at the Perth Dance Music Awards. Before moving to Australia whilst living in Bournemouth UK, he launched his night ‘Break Da House’ curating a fusion of breaks, electro, funk, disco & hip-hop. The event propelled D-Funk into the world of production which saw his 1st release in 2007 pick up plays on BBC Radio One & was featured on a TV advert for Void Audio & Creamfields. With an evolving sound influenced by Australia’s vibrant music scene, D-Funk’s releases on labels such as Jalapeno Records, Centrl Music, Bombstrikes & Sunday Best showcase his versatility and passion for funk, disco, house & breaks. D-Funk continues to push boundaries and captivate audiences with his infectious beats.
