Nadine Altounji, a Montreal-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Skilled in guitar and oud, she draws inspiration from her Syrian heritage and has honed her oud skills under renowned players like Nicolas Royer Artuso and Abdel-Wahab Kayyali. Nadine collaborates with local and international artists and is a member of Montreal's Kalmunity vibe and the Imani Gospel Singers. She played the oud at the Arabic Music Retreats in Massachusetts and participated in the Afropolitan Nomad Festival in Cameroon in 2022. Nadine also performs with the women artist group "Les Sourcières," merging cultures from Cameroon, Benin, Syria, and Canada, with notable performances in Paris and Abidjan in 2023. Her solo career began in 2016 with the EP "I Still" under the artist name NJA. In 2022 she released "The Stories That Tie Us to Trees - Volume 1," blending Arabic, Spanish and South American rhythms. The second part, "Enracinées dans l'histoire – Vol.2," was released in 2023, featuring songs selected for Putumayo World Music compilations. Nadine continues to enchant global audiences.
