In the choir stand of a TN Baptist church, Montreal fell in love with the power of music. Not unlike finding one’s true love, developing a distinctive sound in an industry saturated with carbon copy artists was a winding road. This road led Montreal to the development of his soulful R&B sound fused with the passion of Gospel and bonded together by influences of Jazz and Old School Motown. He is an ever evolving and dynamic singer, song writer, engineer and producer. Montreal’s multi-faceted endeavors in the music industry are an embodiment of the old saying– necessity is the mother of invention. Traveling the world as a Sailor in the US Navy, access to talented music engineers and producers was extremely limited, causing Montreal to hone the skills himself. As Montreal’s love affair with music blossomed, writing came quite naturally, though the technical aspect of music was a seemingly unrequited love. . From his early days of performing at sporting events, gospel showcases and local talent shows to headlining at Indie lounges around the country and singing for military and international dignitaries, Montreal has captivated audiences with his distinct sound and mesmerizing musical candor. With a solid fan base, Montreal’s freshman album sold over 5,000 copies. His highly acclaimed album, “Old Future,” released 23rd March, spawned hits such as, “Be Fine” and an ode to ol skool r&b "Control".
