Erik Bersamina is a California musician hailing from Sacramento and based in Los Angeles; he learned how to produce tracks during his time as a music major at San Jose State University, where he adopted the alias "Kolour Kode." During the pandemic, he received remix support from trap legend Flosstradamus and in 2021, he released his debut EP, “Palette,” a 4-song canvas of his wide range of styles and sounds. His first signings were with Tribal Music Group’s Diverge Records and G-Mafia Records over the next two years, which then led to more live performances all across California, including performing as opening support for Bass House god Habstrakt in Sacramento, 2023. That summer came in hot with a surprise techno remix collab with LA-based house producer Kyree on Speed House Movement Records: label head Haus of Panda’s literal banger “BANGBANG.” Spring 2024 started with an official remix of Chicago’s own Lei Dominique’s “Not Alone,” a mid-tempo r&b gem revamped into a contemporary Chicago/Piano house remix. No genre is off limits for Kolour Kode. From multiple styles of dance music to unique fusions of hip-hop & r&b, like “Butterflies (I Can’t Think)” & “New Year Know Me,” collaborations with Jacquie Joshua & Cheech Outlaw, respectively — Kolour Kode will continue his climb of musical versatility for today's and tomorrow's new ears.
