Composer, music teacher and guitar player for over 30 years. Born in San Jose, Costa Rica, has dedicated his life to music since 1995, after studying piano and classic guitar at the U.C.R. University of Costa Rica. Had taken educational courses and workshops with international artists mostly in the guitar field such as Robben Ford, Scott Henderson and Frank Gambale. And has shared experiences with guitar students during 3 years in Los Angeles California. On 2002 concludes studies and gets a degree in Music Education. And teaches music at several High schools and Music Academies for over 18 years. Had played in many bands and with different artists music from Jazz, Progressive, Blues, Rock to Latin and others. On 2000 puts on a stage a tribute to the legendary Jimi Hendrix, a 2 hour show of his music on different scenarios around the capital of San Jose for 3 years. On 2018 is part of the Festival Internacional de Guitarra de Cartago, an international guitar festival where puts together a tribute to the best guitar players of the last 50 years. Besides play life and at the studio or teach Mario Solano is an active composer, on 2020 launches a 5 CD project LA ODISEA DEL ULTIMO ASTRONAUTA were writes a story along with experimental music. Mario Solano has been nominated 5 times for the ACAM (Association of Composers and Musical Authors of Costa Rica) awards in different categories of different styles such as rock, incidental, jazz and instrumental music.
