Hailing from many places, but with deep roots in Cleveland, Atlanta, Memphis, and Pittsburgh, Mario Dones is a chameleon both in sound and substance, who’s long been situated at the nexus between backpack, trap, Southern, and West Coast sounds. His debut album, Black Watermelon, was self-released in 2013. He’s an alum of the Pittsburgh/Bay Area-based collective The Sole Vibe, now working alongside longtime friends and collaborators Nick Pratt and Cassius G under their CSB Worldwide imprint.
