Christian Ravaglioli was born in Ravenna (Italy) in 1975. After studying classical music and degrees in piano and oboe, he collaborated with world-class theaters and orchestras such as, in Italy, the Musical “Foundation Santa Cecilia in Rome”, Teatro alla Scala in Milan – director Riccardo Muti, orchestra “Giorgio Strehler” in Milan and, in the US, orchestra “North Texas University” in Dallas, Texas. For 5 years, Christian studied composition, including with the Maestro himself, Ennio Morricone. Recently, his work has begun to range from composition and improvisation to contemporary music. As a composer, he made his debut with the show H2o by the Giuditta Pasta Theater in Milan, Italy. He has also collaborated with Orchestra “Arturo Toscanini” from Parma, writers Alessandro Bergonzoni and Stefano Benni, “Centurie” Festivaletteratura" in Mantova with Lietta Manganelli, Teatro Alle Albe. He has worked and performed as a composer and musician in Milan's Blue Note, Rome's Parco Della Musica and Casa Del Jazz, Crossroads, M.E.I, Rai Tv (Italy) and, in the US, on Moma Museum of Modern Art -New York, WNYC (New York public radio) and more. Among his latest collaborations and recordings, in Italy and the US: Trilok Gurtu, Michael Marcus, Vinicio Capossela, Gianluca Petrella, Jovanotti, Howe Gelb, John De Leo, Marianne Dissard, Anna Oxa, Marc Ribot, David Hidalgo, Jim Kelther, John Convertino, Fabrizio Bosso, Dan Stuart, Robin Hitchcock, David Riondino.
