Biography

Raised in Springfield, VA to an immigrant family from Peru, Gonzalo always had flavor, rhythm, music, art, and culture, as a significant part of his life growing up. His father, a guitarist and poet, made ends meet by working as a carpenter to support his then young family, immigrating to the United States in 1998. His mother then followed with her two children, landing in Mobile, Alabama for a little while before making her way to Northern Virginia. Deep into the Fall of that year, she gave birth to her third child, Gonzalo, born November 22 1999 4:05pm “Music has the power and is the vessel to deliver messages of equality, inclusivity, and empowerment to the masses, bleeding through any border, any barrier that separates me from you. As a first generation openly Gay Peruvian-American, my mission has always been to be a vehicle and voice for that kid in the middle of the crowd, street, town, city, state, country, world who feels unseen, unheard, or misunderstood. I was always misunderstood growing up, you could say I was belligerent because of it. But I learned the reason why they misunderstood me was because they never took the chance to listen.. Thank you for for taking the time listen♥️
