Biography

JOHN HOSKING has led an extensive career as solo recitalist, composer and church musician. He has performed solo recitals at Notre-Dame Cathedral, Paris, Washington National Cathedral, St. Paul's Cathedral and over 20 concerts at Westminster Abbey where he was the Organ Scholar for three years. His composing portfolio consists of over 40 published works, with the recording of his "14 Stations of the Cross" for organ being selected as "Editor's Choice" in Organists' Review magazine. His recent exploration into early music with soprano, Olivia Hunt, has led to the creation of "HH Classical Duo". They have released two CDs together for Willowhayne Records in conjunction with Naxos Global Logistics and are about to record a disc for Regent Records of commercial first recordings. John is currently Director of Music at Holy Trinity, Southport and an organist for the BBC's 'Daily Service.' Olivia Hunt (soprano) was formerly Head Chorister of Chester Cathedral and a finalist in the 2009 BBC Young Chorister of the Year competition. She was the recipient of the 2018 Sickle Foundation Award from the Worshipful Livery Company of Wales for services to Welsh music. Olivia has performed all over the UK as a soloist, most recently taking the solo parts in Handel's "Messiah", Haydn's "Nelson Mass" and Purcell's "Come ye sons of art".
