Julian Blumenthaler, is redefining the sound of the violin. Receiving a classical education since the age of four, he soon devoted himself to his love for improvised music. Always the goal in mind to combine the sound of violin with jazz, soul and hiphop. During his studies in Munich and Klagenfurt with Professor Maximilian Grosch he attended Masterclasses with Ari Hoenig, Christian Howes, Mauro Battisti, Carlos Vera and Jeff Miles. As part of the jazzhiphop-collectiv FergexFisherman & The Lakesideboyz (Keys & Violin) he plays shows all over Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In this musical context he worked with artists like Takuya Kuroda, Black Milk, Noah Slee and Hunter Rose. 2020 he founded the “Julian Blumenthaler Quartett“ for which he received the scholarship of the freestate Bavaria “Junge Kunst und neue Wege“.
