Biography

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Derajah began recording for Sugar Minott in 2002, and has an impressive catalog of records. Six years after debuting with Minott's Youthman Promotion, Derajah partnered with venerable session guitarist Earl "Chinna" Smith who welcomed him to Inna De Yard. It was with Earl 'Chinna' Smith that Derajah co-produced the song "Who Yeah Yah", which has become his signature song. With this song, he gained fans throughout Australia, Brazil & Europe, where he performed several times (Olympic, New Morning, Theater National de Bruxelles). In 2011, Derajah released his debut album, Paris Is Burning, which included French & Jamaican musicians. Taking inspiration from life experiences, Derajah says, "Everything I write is true." "Each situation made me reflect on life, society, and how to become a better person with the blessings of the Most High". After watching the documentary titled "Inna de Yard: The Soul of Jamaica" released in theaters in 2019, you realize how fulfilling his life is. Derajah signed 3 songs to Golden Souls in 2022, "Hit Me", "Space & Time", and "Mama", far from reggae, showing how versatile and distinctive his voice is. At the moment, it's his new song ASADENAKI that is making waves across the world. There's No Doubt This One Is A Hit. Derajah and his Inna De Yard Band recently released their brand-new album, Family Affair, which features another standout song from Derajah, Africa. The first single from Derajah’s upcoming new album is out
