"Fuck the same old same old." A line taken from a Who Brought The Dog song he wrote, call Fabian "Fabs" Schwarz's new synth wave project, SixMixSix, life imitating art. He established himself as a guitarist / songwriter in rock and metal circles for over a decade largely through The New Black and assorted side projects (Wild Zombie Blast Guide, Who Brought The Dog), but he eventually felt the need for a change. Following the Final Breath tour supporting Destruction in 2020 - Fabs was on board as a session player - the world went into lockdown, and the opportunity to explore new territory was wide open. SixMixSix began as an experiment, with Fabs uploading instrumental compositions with no expectations beyond his own artistic satisfaction. Slowly but surely he found his new comfort zone and SixMixSix evolved into a full-on project with vocals. The end result is ROAR featuring singers Bina, Alen Ljubic, Fludid (The New Black) and Charly Steinhauer (Paradox) and himself, bringing Fabs' production to full life. Make no mistake: SixMixSix is not a one-off. It has gone from an experiment to a serious musical endeavour. So much so that even before ROAR saw the light of day Fabs did a live SixMixSix show in the summer of 2021 in Würzburg, Germany at the annual Umsonst & Draussen festival backed by guitarist Benni Haupt and drummer Flip Klinger (drums). The performance was later released as a free download on Bandcamp.
