London-based DJ and Producer Kid Blue's career stretches back to the mid-nineties Birmingham house and techno scenes. He came of age listening to local heroes such as Surgeon and Higher Intelligence Agency, and it was in Birmingham that he had his earliest DJ residencies. A move to Leeds in '97 led to him establishing the ground-breaking Technique night, which ruled Saturday nights at the legendary Mint Club for several years. It was at Technique that he honed his trademark blend of chunky, bass-driven house, techno, breaks and electro while playing alongside a who's who of electronic music's biggest names. A move to London in 2006 saw him take up residencies at The End and Ministry of Sound, release a string of singles and EPs on Lot49 and Fat! Records, and play regular gigs across the UK, US, and Europe, including a residency at We Love... in Ibiza. Having taken a break from production and touring, the pandemic of 2020 led to him returning to the studio, launching his own label Burn The Elastic and making regular appearances on AAJA, Threads, Netil Radio and his own station, Better Days FM. In 2021 he ended an eight year recording hiatus with the release of The Destress EP on Burn The Elastic, showcasing a refined sound of dance floor focussed tracks that tread the line between left-field techno aesthetics and timeless electronica.
