Biography

Midwest hip-hop artist Mi5led takes his name from the experience of being sent in wrong directions in life, of being misled. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mi5led grew up rough in places like Chicago, St. Louis, and Battle Creek, Michigan. He idolized gangstas and hustlers then and couldn’t see himself becoming anything else. This way of life eventually led him to prison. Through it all, however, he had music in his blood. His grandmother was a singer, songwriter, and producer on a small-town gospel radio station. The recent death of his cousin drove him to restart his life in a better direction and start pursuing music professionally. Since then, Mi5led has developed into a complete artist who deftly blends hip-hop and R&B into a unique and personal style and has worked with some of the biggest names in the game, including Lil Boosie, Bushwick Bill of Geto Boys fame, Yo Gotti, and Bandgang Masoe. His track “I Done It All (feat. Lil Boosie)” was a breakout hit even though Boosie was incarcerated when it was released, receiving over 500,000 streams. He’s also been featured on Worldstarhiphop.com, Mediatakeout.com, Vibe Magazine, and on multiple mixtapes. Mi5led’s latest track is “Circle” and it’s a perfect display of his smooth-yet-streetwise style and lyrics. With a sound that has been described as “Bryson Tiller meets the Hood” and the skills to make killing sound better than Nate Dogg (RIP), it’s easy to envision Mi5led topping the hip-hop charts.
