Originally from Vladivostok, Russia, on the Far East, Ev Rymd, formerly known as The Loco, began his musical journey in 2015. Drawing initial inspiration from Eric Prydz, Jeremy Olander, and Fehrplay, he developed a unique sound that blends intricate melodies with dynamic rhythms. After gaining substantial experience, he rebranded to Ev Rymd and also produces music under the name Evgenii Rymd, primarily releasing on the Early Origin label. Under this name, he retains elements of his earlier style from when he produced as The Loco. Ev Rymd is deeply grateful for the guidance of d-phrag, whose influence has been instrumental in shaping his current sound. Now based in the United States, Ev Rymd continues to evolve as an artist. He is the creator of ‘The Episodes’ podcast series, which focuses mainly on underground progressive house, occasionally mixing modern sounds with the classic vibes of the 2000s and 2010s. The podcast features the dynamic, hypnotic, and captivating sounds of labels like Anjunadeep, Future Avenue, Balkan Connection, and others. Balancing his music career with his work as a snowboarding instructor, Ev Rymd continues to explore the intersection of nature and sound, with future plans to reconnect with the Pacific coast.
