Milwaukee, USA based artist Cole Steven is a genre-bending artist who writes his own music, blending elements of pop and electric to create catchy and upbeat pieces of work. He credits a lot of his emotional depth and inspiration to being closeted for a long period of his life. “I spent a lot of my life unhappy and isolated. As an openly gay man, I’m focused on just the opposite. I want to create projects that bring me joy and that hopefully allows others the space to escape, dance, and sing.” He learned to play piano and guitar at an early age that later led him to singing and writing his own music. He credits “Speak for Yourself” by Imogen Heap and “…any and all albums by Taylor Swift.” as early musical influences. He released his first single “Sleeping Around” in the summer of 2020. Steven has plans to release new singles and an EP in late 2023. “Music and storytelling have been a constant in my life. Maybe that’s how I learned to cope with trauma, I’m not sure? I’ll talk to my therapist about it this week.”
