Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana Kevin Cooks learned how to navigate through streets that were as thick as gumbo with with crime and poverty. Early on he learned how to express himself through his music. Using hip hop as his opportunity to vent he painted pictures that depicted the other side of Mardi Gras. Every song vividly describes the beauty, danger, love, hate, faith, and despair that he experienced in life. It is written from his perspective in a way that anyone can relate to. His music is real.
