Bram van Sambeek (1980) was the only bassoonist to receive the highest Dutch Cultural Award: The Dutch Music Prize. In 2011, he won a Borletti Buitoni Trust Award and has been admitted to The Chamber Music Society Two programme of New York’s Lincoln Center. He is a very active soloist and has played with numerous orchestras all over the world. Bram held a professorship at the Hochschule of Cologne from 2017 to 2021. As an orchestra musician he played for ten years as principal bassoonist in the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and as a regular guest principal in the London Symphony and Mahler Chamber Orchestra. Bram is a BIS artist, a label that presents his versatile approaches to bassoon playing; for example the contemporary bassoon concertos of Aho and Fagerlund (2017) alongside the standard concertos of Mozart and Weber (2019) and his rockband O.R.B.I. , or the Oscillating revenge of the Background Instruments (2019). His Bach solo album that released in 2022 contains an innovative technique in multitrack recording alongside solo suites and partita’s
