Jesutunji Akinnibosun AKA Pillz the energizer , is a UK based Nigerian Afrobeat artist, currently making the waves in the Scottish scene and environs. He is celebrated because of his signature style of Afrobeats that draws on other genres of music, and delivered in both Yoruba and pidgin English - the signature parlance of the city of Lagos, where he grew up in. Pillz started writing songs and recording music back in 2015. His musical adventure culminated into 2019’s release of BACK TO SENDER. BACK TO SENDER gave Pillz some marginal virality that presented him with the opportunity to open for Zanku President, Zlatan - a prominent Afrobeats artist. It was at the height of the buzz that he took a break from recording, and returned to school to complete both his bsc degree program in Accounting and a Masters degree in International Business Management from Napier University, Edinburgh. Pillz released a comeback record to test the waters - “Energy” was released in 2022. It turned out to be the biggest Afrobeats single to be released out of Edinburgh, reaching the number 1 spot on BBC’s “Introducing Scotland” radio chart show - A first for any Afrobeats single or song to have been charted on the program. This translated to opportunities to open at shows in the UK, for top Afrobeats artists like Kizz Daniel, Bnxn (formerly known as Buju), and Gyakie. Pillz is definitely the guy to look out for
