Always seeking to disrupt our “normal” ways of thinking and understanding our relationship with ourselves, the world, and the God who created us, Tim Cook strives through his music to draw others in to ponder the hard questions - the ones we all need answers to but have, in many cases, been deceived into believing are satisfied by the standardly-excepted answers. Never content to settle for the easy way out, Tim’s music seeks out meaning in the midst of hurt and disappointment - those times when we know intellectually that God should come through, yet with no salvation and sight. Those times when we ache for revelation or just to feel again, yet through our cries it seems the heavens wax heartless. In the end, Tim’s faith in God and His character leads him to echo the words of Job: “Though He slay me, Yet will I trust in Him!” This steadfast belief in God’s faithfulness in the midst of the bleakest circumstances, and the hope that exist because of it, is what drives Tim to write. Tim grew up as a missionary kid in Quito, Ecuador, and it was there that his love for music and relationship with God were both kindled. He has served on and lead several youth and church worship teams since 2000, earned a degree in Bible with a music emphasis from the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago in 2005, and is currently a project manager and IT Director at Harvest Church, a non-denominational church in Lexington, SC. Tim and his wife Rebekah have six children.
