Alexandre Furnelle, born in Congo where he lived until the age of 6, was attracted to music at a very young age. He made his debut on the electric bass and at the age of twenty he discovered jazz and the double bass. Self-taught, he deepened his musical research through an academic course in double bass and classical harmony, lessons in harmony and double bass, singing, rhythm, viola da gamba, choral direction, etc. He is interested in sound as a raw material, which led him to study primitive instruments. Since 1979, he has worked with musicians of all styles: jazz, song, music from Eastern countries, Oriental,... Among others: the gypsy guitarist Fapi Lafertin, jazzmen like Peter Hertmans, Erwin Vann, Daniel Stokart, Jan de Haas, Barbara Wiernik, Ben Sluijs, Kristina Fuchs, Alexandre Cavaliere,… musicians of extra-European, essentially oriental cultural origin: Khalid Izri, Sawt, Alwane,... and other encounters in different styles. For example Stephane Wertz (fingerstyle), Teppaz Road (pop-rock),... He is a member of various groups including O'Tchalaï (Eastern European music), and participates both as an instrumentalist and composer in various theatrical or storytelling shows including the show "Meparoles pas d'amour", ... He formed the Kaléïdoscopes ensemble (4 strings and a saxe) which released a CD in October 2020 and a 2nd in 2023
