In his projects the pianist effortlessly blends Brazilian genres, jazz, classical music and improvised music. In Gomide’s debut solo album, 'Portais' (Challenge Records), the pianist based in Cologne ''presents wonderfully flowing interpretations of Brazilian classics'' (WDR). ''Portais is constructed as a stroll through his favorite Brazilian composers: Egberto Gismonti opens the album with the tasty "Frevo" with its bouncy melody, and returns later with "Loro" and "Palhaço"; Baden Powelll and "Canto de Xango", the magnificent "Beatriz" by Edu Lobo and Chico Buarque.'' (Jazzmania) Next to his activities with the São Paulo trio Caixa Cubo, the pianist has shared musical moments with an eclectic array of musicians from various backgrounds. Among his collaborators are Mathias Schriefl, Tony Lakatos, Bart van Lier and John Ruocco, as well as Brazilian luminaries Mateus Aleluia, Paulo Belinatti and Guinga.
