Damian Timothy Hempstead, also known as Damian, is an Australian-based actor, singer, writer, composer, musician, director and model. Of royal stock, he was born in Sydney in 2002 to an English father and an Italian mother with a dash of French and Greek ancestry. He attended The Hills Grammar School, sharing an alma mater with fellow alumni Joel Edgerton and Delta Goodrem. Performing since the age of 8 years old in one form or another Damian has been pouring himself into many creative outlets. Making his stage debut as Oliver alongside Wayne Scott Kermond in Neil Gooding’s Musical ‘Oliver’ (2012) followed by Opera Australia’s ‘The King and I’ (2014) opposite Lisa McCune. Damian was cast in his first TV role in the SBS mini-series ‘Deep Water’ (2016) alongside Yael Stone and Noah Taylor. He is also known for his starring roles in Indie Film Festival Award Winning Shorts ‘The Paper Rose’ (2018), ‘Absolutes’ (2018) and ‘Pepper’ (2019) and TV series ‘The Gamers 2037’ (2020-2021). Rewarded for his hard work in his most recent self-created opportunities, he received the 2022 Cannes World Film Festival Grand Winner Award for Best Song and Nomination for Best Music Video for his single ‘Can’t Have You’ from his debut EP ‘SPLIT.’
