<div>Gui Tavares is a Brazilian songwriter and musical arranger currently residing in London, England, who arranges as well as performs MPB, Brazilian Jazz, instrumental arrangements, music for children, and soundtracks, on both guitar and keyboard. Gui earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Composition and Conducting from the University of Campinas. During this time he performed one of his own compositions with the Campinas Symphony Orchestra, and went on to release his first album, “Noite que Brincou de Lua” (1981) with Edu Passeto. The album was reissued by Far Out Recordings in March 2018. In the 90s Gui moved Rio de Janeiro, where he shared the stage with Joyce Moreno, Clara Moreno, Claudio Nucci, at venues such as SESC and Joao Caetano Theatre, as well as appearing on several major Brazilian television programs. He relocated to London in 2003, where he has continued his career, performing at the Southbank Centre, Jazz Cafe, and Pizza Express Jazz Club, as well as in festivals such as Brecon Jazz Festival and locations as far flung as Italy, where he played with the group Azymuth, filling in for the keyboardist Jose Roberto Bertrami, and at Black Note in Valencia, Spain. In 2007 he made a trip to Tokyo and Osaka, in Japan, to promote the Japanese re-release of his second album “Amigos & Friends.” <br></div><div>Gui is currently working on new compositions and is recording an instrumental album, and is collaborating with Filó Machado, amongst other renowned Brazilian musicians. </div>
