Rory Sweeney is a hard artist to define, having made a name for himself as one of the key artists in the Irish Underground. His solo music is high drama, defined by glitchy electronics and cinematic balladry. He is mostly known for his acclaimed production work for artists such as Sello, Curtisy, Kojaque, Aoife Wolf, EMBY, Sloucho and Pippa Molony amongst others, seamlessly traversing mainstream and underground sounds. His work won him the AVA Producer of the year award 2023 and has landed him on countless end of year lists over the past 3 years, having seen support from several acclaimed artists such as Lord Apex, Mavi, Machine Girl, Objekt, Neffa T, Oblig, Kelly Moran, Sha Ru, MI EL, Will Bankhead, Maria Somerville, DJ Spit, J Colleran (MMOTHS) and Shampain. Separately he’s also gained a cult following as a DJ in Dublin for his high energy ADHD sets, hopping between disparate genres such as Irish Trad, Instrumental Grime, Dabke and Vogue in short spaces of time. As a DJ, he has supported Blawan, Giant Swan, Pete Cannon, Teki Latex, Machine Girl, Hodge, Jax Jones, and Sempra and performed at festivals such as AVA, Electric Picnic, Haunted Dancehall, Otherside, Body And Soul and Open Ear. "Undoubtedly one of the most exciting producers to emerge from Ireland in the last few years, Rory’s sound is untameable; floating anywhere between autotuned hyper-pop, grime, footwork and hardcore" - Plain Sailing Belfast
