Het Filiaal theatermakers is the premiere theatre company for families and schools in Utrecht. We perform not only in our own city and in the Netherlands but also internationally, from Moscow to New York and from Sydney to Shanghai. We are theatre professionals met ideals. From the very start, Het Filiaal embarked on adventurous combinations of (live) music and theatre, puppetry/object theatre, visual art, live video and dance. This enormous toolbox offers us the means to create a universal theatre language; a language that doesn’t lean heavily on text but also tells a story using images and sound. Music plays an essential role in our productions. New music is composed for each new show. We work with top musicians from classical, jazz, pop and world music, from tabla player Sandip Bhattacharya to violinist Emma Breedveld, from brass quintet KO!Brass to Percussion Group The Hague, from tap dancer Peter Kuit to singer-songwriter Jasmin Godoy.
