The Mike Rossi Project is a six-piece jazz ensemble created in 2012. Since then it has produced four CDs totalling thirty plus original compositions to date, along with select standards, use of mixed media and orchestral settings for saxophone. Most of the original works have been published internationally by Advance Music/Schott Music, Germany. Works from all the recordings have been performed in South Africa and internationally including Europe, United Kingdom, North America, South America and Japan. One of the main goals of the Project is to provide and sustain a platform for new music and to showcase upcoming students and graduates to wider audiences. Over the past 10 years, The Mike Rossi Project has consistently provided a platform for creative work. Musical styles include samba, swing, jazz rock, kwela, ghoema, mbaquanga, jazz standards.
