Sourav Das (Major Saheb) is an up and coming artist, based in Bangalore. He composes, writes and performs his own material. He has written in 3 languages: Hindi, English and his mother tongue, Odiya. Previously a part of the 'Eclectica Project' based in Bhopal, he had written, composed and performed 4 songs in collaboration with various other up and coming modern and folk artists. These works are published under (and rights reserved by) Anahad Foundation, an NGO focussed on folk and modern music collaboration in order to promote, conserve, rediscover and redistribute folk music. He's currently a known face in the Bangalore open mic scene, open to and looking forward to collaborations with different artists. His originals like "Vande Mataram" and "Kaarva" are well appreciated songs in all open mic scenes. His music style spans from soft-rock, acoustic jam session songs which are conversational in its delivery, to, melancholic light hearted melodies. Major Saheb looks forward to explore intricacies in all languages of India. His aim is to collaborate with writers from all languages of India, and write, compose and perform originals in all the languages, to revisit the diversity of India through his own eyes.
