Cigarbox Man developed his sound and was discovered on the streets of Santiago a few years ago, when he won a busking competition and wound up playing on the main stage at Lollapalooza. He moved to the US in the summer of 2022 and is preparing to release his first full length album, which was produced in partnership with a legendary team that includes Tomás Salcedo (Guitars, Fantastic Negrito), Nahuel Bronzini (Mixing Engineer, Fantastic Negrito), Thomas Pridgen (The Mars Volta, Residente), Uriah Duffy (Whitesnake), Karl Perazzo (Carlos Santana), and many other well known musicians from the Bay Area. The Sustainable Rock represents the position of Cigarbox Man to achieve a paradigm shift in the industry; where the musician goes from being an entertainment figure who goes up on stage to entertain and have fun, to an artist who has an active role, getting involved with the environmental impact and energy consumption that result from their concerts and productions. The "Cigarbox School" is a free workshop led by Cigarbox Man, focused on promoting a sustainable lifestyle to children. Using found/recycled objects, groups of 4 students create a cigarbox guitar made with a drink can, broomstick and hose clamp. Currently Cigarbox Man is testing new prototypes made with 3D technology, where the base of the guitar is printed using filaments made from fishing nets found in Patagonia.
