Duncan J. Anderson, otherwise known by his DJ moniker “DunkModa,” is a new age bridge between classic EDM and the colorful chords home to the symphony orchestra. Moda considers his music ‘melodically melancholy’ as he carefully curates abstract and sad lyrics, linked with an uplifting-feel-good underlying composition. To Moda, it gives the listener an opportunity to self-reflect, and take in the music more subjectively. Moda originally started off and continues to be an actor in Los Angeles. He considers himself to be an actor by day, and a DJ by night. Sleep was never really important for Moda, anyway. Moda was born and raised in Northeast Ohio, though his family knew the West Coast was his home… from heart, to mind, to soul. Moda not only illuminates social issues such as anti-bullying, but sometimes conducts as a red carpet host and interviewer to further inform others about the cause. Moda grew up influenced by artists like Daft Punk, Swedish House Mafia, Calvin Harris, Alesso, and more. Moda has collaborated with Grammy nominees such as David Longoria and Robert Eibach of the Del Oro Music record label. Moda says he’s in debt to the storytelling craft, and will continue to tell stories — hopefully inspiring others to keep inspiring, and one day cause a snowball effect.
