Biography

Lorenzo Meo is an Italian pianist and composer who is known for his intense performances and passion for contemporary music. He has performed in numerous venues around the world, including the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Quirinale Palace in Rome, Politeama Theatre in Palermo, the National Philharmonic in Lviv, the Carnegie Hall in New York. Lorenzo Meo is especially well-known for his interpretation of Estonian composer Jaan Rääts, and has recorded several of his piano works. He has also premiered works written specifically for him and has a discography that includes recordings of 20th- and 21st-century compositions. He is also a skilled chamber musician and has performed with various ensembles, playing a repertoire that ranges from classical to modern works. Lorenzo Meo is a graduate of the Conservatorio "G.B. Martini" in Bologna and has completed additional music education at the Accademia Nazionale Santa Cecilia in Rome and the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste in Zürich. Lorenzo Meo has received awards in various piano competitions and has participated in master classes with musicians such as Salvatore Accardo, Paul Badura-Skoda, Boris Bekhterev, Konstantin Bogino and Rocco Filippini.
