Biography

Jeremy Espinoza, aka Little J, was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. He has lived in Northeast Los Angeles his whole life, residing in Highland Park most of his childhood but has also lived in Lincoln Heights, El Sereno and City Terrace. At 12 years old, Jeremy began exercising his rhyming skills with some friends from Stockton, CA while visiting his grandfather for the winter. They formed a rap group called “The Boyz” which was primarily taking Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony songs and changing a few words. The Boyz would rap to drum presets that came included with a $100 Casio piano. Jeremy quickly gained popularity as a rapper. At 13 years old he was featured on KPWR’s Power 106 Roll Call Segment hosted by the Baka Boys. Everyday at 6:30pm 3 rappers would call in to the radio station and compete against each other with either freestyle or written bars. Winners would be invited back the next day to defend their crown. Jeremy went on to win 16 times in a row, crowning him as one of the youngest Roll Call champions in the history of the show. The radio station had to retire him. At 15 years old Jeremy found himself battling with drug addiction. On June 27, 2003 at age 17, his life was radically changed as Jeremy gave his life to Jesus. Jeremy has always rapped about real life situations. As a Christian, his music began shining light on his faith while continuing to stay true to the raw human emotions he feels. It’s that angle that gives Jeremy his sound and power spot.
