Henrik Pultz Melbye has established himself as one of the very interesting musicians on the scene for improvised and experimental music with a personal sound and unique ideas. Since 2008 he’s co-lead the avantgarde rock group SVIN, which has released 4 albums and was in 2012 nominated as New Jazz Artist of the year at the Danish Music Awards Jazz and played at Roskilde Festival in 2017. In 2016 he was again nominated New Jazz Artist of the Year with Henrik Pultz Melbye Trio which was also his debut album as a leader. The same album received several great reviews and was chosen as one of 10 best albums of the year by danish jazz critic, Niels Overgård and his blog Jazznyt. Besides these bands he is also active with the collective improvisational quartet The Hum, a baritone saxophone duo playing original compositions and his solo project where he focuses on playing acoustic saxophone.
