Biography

Bass player/composer, Matteo Bortone is making a name for himself among the rising talents of the newest jazz generation, especially after being awarded as “Best New Talent 2015” in the annual poll held by the journalists of italian jazz magazine Musica Jazz. Italian but musically raised in Paris, genre/crossing composer with roots in contemporary jazz, rock and pop/folk music, Matteo blends all these elements into compositions where acoustic and electronic intertwine, creating a world of contrasts and dialogues in a cohesive, cinematic sound. All these works showcase Bortone's forward-thinking vision as a musician and composer.
