Bristol-based Formula has seen what can only be described as a meteoric rise over the last two years. However, he is anything but an ‘overnight success’. Beginning his journey into production in 2012, Olly Bishop aka. Formula was DJing at festivals by the time he was sixteen. No stranger to the world of electronic music at this point, Olly began to explore the sounds of Philly Blunt, Hospital Records and Souped Up in order to influence his own unique style. Supported by new-school pioneers Invicta Audio on his breakthrough release, Formula is now working with Crucast, Hospital and DNB Allstars to name but a few. His bootleg of TC’s iconic track ‘Tap Ho’ was so popular that it was signed as an official remix, jumping straight to #1 on Beatport and featuring in almost every DJ set this year. He has also seen track support from a host of artists including Andy C, Hedex and Born on Road. Bookings are now flying in for Formula with an international slot at the iconic Let It Roll festival in 2023, several appearances at large DNB Allstars events and a number of headline shows up and down the UK. With tracks spanning a range of drum and bass sub-genres, it is impossible to pigeonhole Formula as an artist. Whether he is working with talented vocalists and producers or simply creating heavy-hitting basslines at his studio in Bristol, you can guarantee that Formula is always searching for ways to develop and improve his sound.
