Biography

Nalukalala may mean “trouble-maker” in Luganda but C Wyne is 100% Rasta. Or a straight forward person Who resists against oppresion and always puts out his voice for the voiceless people (Ghetto People). and this earned him a name “Omuyekera” a luganda word meaning Rebel which is also linked to the name of their music group Tsunami High Rebels Crew and that is why is also known as “Jah Rebel”. Coming from a rough part of Kampala called Kireka, C Wyne is now a veteran of the Ugandan dancehall scene, with early hits like Cease And Sekkle (2009) and Vibes Of War (2013). A master of both roots reggae and jump-up bashment Dancehall, he is one of the most talented and versatile artists to emerge from Uganda’s competitive industry. On his releases Ettemu (meaning ‘Murder’ in his native Luganda), he teamed up with Mungo’sHiFi’s dancehall producers Danny T & Tradesman on a new version of their hit ‘Galang’ riddim (Scotch Bonnet Records, UK).He also rode one of their top riddims in an impassioned plea to Free @Bobiwine, many of his songs tackle gangs, Globalization, poverty and inequality. Unlike so many of the contemporary dancehall singers in Uganda, C Wyne represents roots and morality in a climate of violence and vanity. On and off the mic, he is a warm and humorous personality, much loved and admired for his local shows. Meanwhile, his authentic vibe and intelligent lyrics have been picking up strong interest from international Global Producers.
