Music has always been a way of life for ChuckT. Drawing from a vast catalog of vinyl records from his family’s collection and learning to play multiple instruments shaped the music producer, songwriter, and artist hailing from Oakland, CA. Being influenced by a diverse array of blues, funk, hip hop, and soul, ChuckT (real name Charles Turner, Jr.) learned to read music at an early age and became familiar with various instruments through church and family members. In 2013, ChuckT decided to start writing and recording his own music as a means of reinvention and recreation and began doing this under the name “Ash DaBlunt” and released a debut album, ”Focus On The Real” in 2017. But in 2016 ChuckT had some mainstream success when a song produced by him called “We Still Swim” by Messiah Ramkissoon was featured in The Source Magazine & on allhiphop.com. After years of running a home studio, ChuckT leased commercial space & opened his own professional recording studio called Rich City Studios in Richmond, California. Working together with his recording studio clientele he successfully had 2 artist showcases in 2019, one of which was featured on national television. ChuckT also worked with KQED in producing instrumentals for a podcast & produced the instrumental used in a promotional video for Oakland’s monthly First Friday Event. ChuckT is also the founder & owner of ChuckT Productions Publishing & Produce Until Something Happens Entertainment (P.U.$.H. Ent.) record label.
