Hailed for her "rich mezzo" (OPERA Magazine), Mezzo-Soprano Mariya Kaganskaya has recently appeared with companies including The Santa Fe Opera, San Francisco Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Arizona Opera, Opera Omaha, West Bay Opera, Opera Ithaca, Opera Santa Barbara, and Teatro Grattacielo. Favorite roles include Charlotte (Werther), Paula (Florencia en el Amazonas), Olga (Eugene Onegin), Polina/Milovzor (Pique Dame), Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Tisbe (La Cenerentola), Ottavia (L’incoronazione di Poppea), and the title role of Serse. Her recent awards include First Place in the Classical Singer Competition (Young Artist/Emerging Professional Division), the Lois Alba Aria Competition, the Los Angeles International Liszt Competition, the St. Petersburg Opera Guild Competition, the Gershwin International Music Competition, the Pacific Musical Society Competition, and both the Eastern and Southeastern Region of the NATS Artist Awards.
