Biography

Prom Queen is a "doom-wop" band based in Seattle that is fronted and produced by Leeni Ramadan, who grew the band out of a solo act after the first release of 'Night Sound' in 2011. In 2014, the band's following release was an ambitious one: a Kickstarter-funded 12 song video-album called 'Midnight Veil'. The film, which lives on the band's YouTube channel, weaves in and out of eye-popping tableaus with colorful characters by following a magic lamp from video to video. The film cemented the band's kitchy style, visual aesthetic, and cinematic flair. With their next album, 'Doom-Wop' in 2017, Prom Queen abandoned the bombastic orchestrations of the 'Midnight Veil' era and opted for more stripped down and traditional productions to highlight how the band has grown as an ensemble over the many years of performing together. While still in lockdowns in 2021, Prom Queen remotely recorded and released an EP of Britney Spears covers called 'Lucky' and filmed a music video for “Baby One More Time”.
