KlassOne, a former DJ and lover of house music, took up music production during Covid lockdown in 2020. His passion for dance music began at the height of the rave culture in his small coastal South African hometown in the 90’s. In 2004 he started DJing and soon got affiliated with The Filthy Five, who dominated the dance scene in East London for quite some time. After just 5 years DJ EVO had to give it all up after damaging his hearing, but his passion for electronic music never ceased. Fast forward to today and after about 2 years of self-taught music production, KlassOne started sharing his remixes and bootlegs online, which later caught the attention of the label owner and fellow Filthy Five member, DJ Kool E at RetroFunk Records. When Craig Beez, another FF member released his debut EP, KlassOne was afforded the opportunity to remix the title track ‘Terrified’ which takes the listener back to an era where his passion began. His debut EP titled ‘Knee Deep’ was released on RetroFunk Records in July 2024. KlassOne gives glory to God Almighty for his grace and blessings.
