Swaffer’s compositions are influenced by the deep Scandinavia culture of melody and harmonics. He has developed a body of work within film and theatre. The piano compositions carry a sensitivity for the cinematic, an uncompromising touch that evokes the images from mythical and sonic roots into the world of visual expression. The melodies bring together two elements of the intangible – that of the breath and that of the poem, condensed essays exploring the movement of sound and emotion (émouvoir).
