KimieChen was born in Linden, New Jersey. She has been singing since age 5. She was captivated by the soulful sounds as child of Aaliyah, Lauryn Hill, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Arthea Franklin, May J. Blige and Toni Braxton. As a teen she sang lead for a local band SOGO where she developed her talents as a stylized artist. KimieChen is been given the gift of song and song writing. Her talent for turning her life experiences into verse is remarkable. She has been signed to management with Quincy Jones protege' and Producer-Manager Lavaba Mallison, who was the engine behind the careers of Kool Moe Dee, Teddy Riley, Steve Arrington . and many producers.
