Biography

Born and raised in Italy, Andrea Morricone is a composer and conductor known for his many film scores. With extensive experience in both, the conducting and composition fields, his portfolio includes all genres ranging from classical and contemporary to film scores and crossover songs. Amongst his many compositions, one of his most famous is 'Love Theme' from Italian drama Nuovo Cinema Paradiso, whereon he collaborated with his father, Ennio Morricone, and for which they won a BAFTA Award. Besides composing, Andrea has conducted many concerts across the globe from Los Angeles to Moscow, from London to Venezuela. In 2020 he participated in a special performance during the Senate and Culture meeting in 2020, where his father received the Lifetime Achievement Award. For this memorable event Andrea conducted the music from the film Cinema Paradiso. Throughout his career, Andrea collaborated with many major artists such as Sting, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban and Yo-Yo Ma, to name a few. In 2015, Andrea Morricone collaborated with Andrea Bocelli, creating the theme song for that year’s World Expo in Milan, Italy. As a result of this collaboration, beautiful “La Forza Del Sorriso” was composed by Andrea Morricone and performed by Andrea Bocelli. With more than 30 composed movie soundtracks, Andrea Morricone’s music can be heard in theatre, on television and on radio worldwide. Find more information on www.andreamorricone.org
