Ashley Davies is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist and composer. He has recorded and produced seven solo albums of mostly instrumental music. He has also conceived three live theatre shows incorporating his own compositions that have performed at festivals around the country including the Perth International Arts Festival and the Port Fairy Folk and Queenscliff Music Festivals As a drummer, Ash has played on more than 70 albums and appeared in film and TV sessions. He has toured, filled in for and played live with some of Australia’s best known artists including Matt Walker, Jeff Lang, the Models, the Dingoes and Chris Wilson’s Crown of Thorns. The international artists with whom he has toured include Chris Whitley (US), Rosie Flores (US) and Ben Waters (UK) GOLD is Ashley's latest release. It features 10 instrumental works inspired by a series of paintings by his late uncle that were based on the tale of Harold Bell Lasseter's search for a 15-kilometre long gold reef in remote central Australia. Ash's aim was to evoke the same feeling in listeners that he felt when admiring his uncle's work
