Biography

Yuvigi is a progressive metal band hailing from Bulgaria. The band consists of Valentin Monovski (guitars), Iavor Pachovski (keyboards), Panayot Solakov (bass, lead vocals) and Spaz Genev (drums). Debut record 'Grey Desert' (2010) gained the band loyal followers, as the promo tour concluded with support act for the legendary Bulgarian Rock and Roll band “Signal”. But it was not until their second album - 'From First Person Perspective' (2012) that established Yuvigi as one of the most prominent and recognizable prog metal bands on the local scene. Songs such as 'Power' and 'The Wicked Tongues' hit radio chart tops, while the album itself got excellent reviews. The highest point in the album, however, is undoubtedly the pilot single, entitled '681'. The blistering, Bulgarian folk infused instrumental track features Ryo Okumoto from iconic American progressive rock band Spock's Beard, on keyboards. After two years of touring and promoting their second album, Yuvigi release 'Come What May' (2015) - a six-song EP, packed with intense energy and diverse melodies. In 2016 Yuvigi are chosen as opening act for Civil War. The show in Sofia is a blast, with the band winning many new supporters. Soon after, Yuvigi make another memorable performance, this time to reach the finals of Wacken Open Air Metal Battle Bulgaria 2016. Yuvigi are now back with their third studio album, entitled 'From Black' (2017), and what is by far the band's most heavy and diverse record to date.
