Growing up in a classical music family, Erlend Bilsbak aka Ars Dada is an artist with one leg firmly planted in the world of underground electronic music and the other in the world of art music. The result is an artist never content with staying within the framework of any one genre but thrives in the spaces between. This makes the music of Ars Dada an eclectic mix of classical music, jazz, hardcore, metal, jungle, IDM, ambient and any other musical expression that catches his fancy. Ars Dada has been a frequent name on lineups of raves and festivals around Europe and beyond, but has also delved into projects composing commissioned works for dance performances and film. As a native of Norway , and living in the arctic town of Bodø, with its endless summerdays but punishing, long winters, Ars Dada's music if often coloured by a dark undercurrent that runs through his music, always lurking beneath the surface.
