Biography

Ashleigh grew up on Sydney's Northern Beaches and played both the flute and Irish tin whistle from an early age. However, it wasn’t until she enrolled in a music business unit while at university that she developed an interest in songwriting. At the age of 19, she wrote and recorded her first original song, entitled ‘You’ve Changed’. Scott Morgan, who has composed and arranged music for well-known TV series Dragon Ball Z, crafted the instrumental accompaniment. The track, an emotional ballad about heartbreak, was shortlisted for the 2010 Catapult Song Contest. In August 2020, Ashleigh released a new single, ‘Hope You’ll Stay’. The song was initially written by Ashleigh on the piano, and later produced by Joe Clar, an accomplished audio and music professional based in Boston. She was fortunate enough to secure a radio interview with Fay Kirk of 2MAX FM. In recent years, Ashleigh has collaborated and co-written songs with international artists and music producers, including Lewisland, Rush Sounds, Jeffrey Greer, and Edward Lim. She hopes that what started out as a bedroom project will one day evolve into something more.
