Born and raised in Bastrop, TX, Deezie Brown delivers an alternative style of southern Hip-Hop and Funk from his perspective and surroundings. He was exposed to hip-hop at an early age while he rode around in a Chevy truck with his dad listening to some of the great artists of the South such as DJ Screw, Outkast and UGK. - At the age of 10, Deezie Brown gathered blank tapes and used his boombox to record his own mixtapes utilizing beats from his dads’ uncles and cousins’ cassette tapes. He remembers how music was a medium in which his family bonded over. - The small town of Bastrop, just a short drive to Smithville, the hip-hop epicenter of Texas. Smithville is home to Texas hip-hop father, DJ Screw. Some of Deezie Brown’s first interaction with hip-hop artists were those of the Screwed Up Click.
