Biography

Simon Luethy has won numerous violin competitions in Germany and abroad and already undertakes regular concert tours of Europe as well as the United States. He was the Grand Prize and Audience Prize winner at the Young Paganini International Violin Competition. Among others, he has also won prizes at the international violin competitions Andrea Postacchini, Music Islands and New York International Artists Association. Highlights from recent concert seasons include his Carnegie Hall debut in New York City, performances at Munich´s Herkulessaal and Gasteig, the Berlin Philharmonie and the National Concert Hall in Dublin. Simon Luethy works together with artists such as Enrico Pace, Kristóf Baráti, Kirill Troussov, István Várdai, Alexandra Troussova, Christoph Poppen, Marcelo Amaral and the Apollon Musagète Quartet. Simon Luethy has appeared in concert as soloist with the Südwestdeutsche Phiharmonie, the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra, the Sudecka Philharmonic Orchestra, the Augsburger Kammerorchester and the Münchner Kammerphilharmonie dacapo. He works with conductors such as Eckart Manke, Georgios Balatsinos, Paweł Przystocki, Bernd-Georg Mettke, David Geringas, Zakhar Bron, Franz Schottky and Peter Bauer. Since 2012, Simon Luethy has studied with Kirill Troussov in Munich and since 2019 with Christoph Poppen at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. Since 2017, Simon Luethy has played a Nicola Gagliano, a privately loaned violin.
