Our third statement in response to the Neo-liberal destruction of the Universe City is 'Art V STEM'... Expect slow building electronics, layered glistening guitars and gravity defying ebow with spoken word vocals that offer a damning indictment of the neoliberalism of universities. The lyrics draw on Peter Fleming’s brilliant book 'Dark Academia: How Universities Die', as well as R.D. Laing and Aaron Esterson’s occasionally brilliant but often questionable 'Sanity, Madness and the Family', and frighteningly influential right wing educationalist Celia Green’s 'Advice to Clever Children' which features moments of genius among the seemingly endless bitter, self -obsessed and frankly misguided churn. Yep, Art V STEM has a bibliography. But don’t let that put you off. Watch out for the launch of NDU (Nostalgia Deathstar University) where 'knowledge is a product to be bought'.
